What is The Factory?

In 2012, a raw abandoned 40,000 square foot former factory in Nyack, NY, was taken over by contemporary artist and music producer Jase Blankfort.

Blankfort, primarily known as the musical act GLINT, alongside his manager Adam Jordan of Rely Records, upcycled The Factory to become Blankfort’s private recording/writing facility and the new home of Rely Records. The unique and industrious creative playground soon attracted a barrage of distinct names in music whom began recording iconic performances, live, for intimate audiences, in conjunction with 107.1 FM The Peak.

The transformation of a private creative arts space-turned-public-spectacle sparked an idea in Blankfort to synthesize the experience to a larger scale, across all artistic mediums.

So far, The Factory has had the pleasure of hosting a wide range of recognized names in music including Dispatch, Imagine Dragons, Ed Sheeran, Alejandro Escovedo, Morning Parade, Michael Kiwanuka, Churchill, The Dunwells and The Sheepdogs to name a few. Check out The Peak’s Youtube Page for video clips from these performances, recorded and mixed by Jase Blankfort.

Now, on February 19th, select members of the GLINT fan club and The Peak Listener Advisory Board will have the pleasure to come to The Factory and see the all new GLINT, live and loud, up close and personal. Visit the tour page for more information.

SUPERNOVA 1987A

From Jase’s Studio #1:

Around the time I was born there was a mysterious fire in the sky. It turned out to be a supernova 170,000 light years away that occurred several hundred thousand years ago. We still don’t fully understand its appearance; when I read about it I decided to create a soundtrack for the moment it arrived in our sky after its light spent hundreds of thousands of years travelling to Earth.
